Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation and CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), called American political activist Charlie Kirk one of the most pro-Russian politicians in the United States on September 21.

"Charlie Kirk was one of the most pro—Russian conservative voices in the United States," Dmitriev wrote on his Telegram channel.

He noted that Kirk called on the international community to have constructive relations with Russia and opposed the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

Kirk, who was assassinated during his speech at the University of Utah, died on September 10. He played a key role in the victory of American President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. The White House was closely monitoring this situation — the "situation room" was involved in the process.

On September 16, Tyler Robinson, a suspect in the assassination attempt, was formally charged with serious murder, intentionally or knowingly causing Kirk's death in circumstances that pose a significant risk of death to others. The next day, he appeared in court for the first time via video link. During the entire hearing, he spoke only once, when the judge asked him to introduce himself.
