- The Times learned about Britain's intention to train deputies to counteract spies from the Russian Federation
In the UK, the MI5 counterintelligence service will train officials to counter espionage and protect against alleged "foreign interference" from "hostile states," primarily Russia and China. This was reported on September 21 by The Times newspaper.
It is noted that a document with relevant recommendations will be prepared for these purposes, and it will be published by the National Directorate for Protection and Security, which is part of MI5.
It is expected that within the framework of the initiative, officials located in a "high-risk" area will be warned about threats, including those related to cyberspace, for example, when communicating on social networks. Civil servants will also be instructed on how to safely hire assistants or make trips abroad less risky.
It is noted that such measures will help to increase the level of protection of British officials from the actions of any state.
Earlier, on March 27, the Federal Security Service (FSB) revealed that the Ukrainian special services, under the cover of the American analytical organization RAND Corporation (recognized as undesirable in the Russian Federation), are trying to recruit agents for espionage in Russia. It is indicated that in this way Kiev is trying to obtain secret data on the use of strategic aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS), as well as on the number and deployment of Russian units involved in the special operation.
