France does not classify what is happening in the Gaza Strip as genocide, as this issue does not relate to the sphere of politics. This was stated on September 21 by French leader Emmanuel Macron in an interview with the American channel CBS News.

"No, we do not classify what is happening as genocide, because this is not a political statement. Judges and historians evaluate the genocide based on evidence and jurisprudence," the politician said.

He noted that he does not reject the report of the independent UN commission, whose experts stated that Israel has the "intention to destroy" the Palestinians in Gaza.

"In fact, many civilians are dying, and there is a project to relocate people. I think this is a big mistake. We must convince the US administration: if we agree on the "day after" with the de facto government, the security package and the disarmament of Hamas, then we need to work on reconstruction today," Macron said.

The French leader added that if we accept that Israel is displacing people, this "day after" will never come. He indicated that he had carefully studied all the plans of the US administration and experts for the resettlement of Gazans.

"They're all talking: "Let's work and build Gaza for the people of Gaza." This means that they are ready to preserve and protect the Palestinian people. Because Gazans are those who live in Gaza. But if the precondition for this is their expulsion, that's just madness," the president concluded.
