The Israeli Foreign Ministry said it was undermining the chances of a deal with Hamas because of the recognition of Palestine

The Israeli authorities have categorically rejected the statements of the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia on the recognition of Palestinian statehood. This was announced on September 21 in an official statement by the Israeli Foreign Ministry after the relevant decisions of the three countries.

The agency pointed out that these steps significantly undermine the chances of reaching a deal with representatives of the Palestinian Hamas movement.

"Israel categorically rejects the unilateral statement on the recognition of the Palestinian state made by the United Kingdom and some other countries. These statements do not contribute to peace, but, on the contrary, further destabilize the region and undermine the chances of achieving a peaceful solution in the future," the press service of the Israeli Ministry said.
