The head of the Yalta city administration, Yanina Pavlenko, whose name was included in the new sanctions list of Ukraine, commenting on this fact on September 21, said that in this case it would be more appropriate to diagnose the Kiev authorities. She noted that she had long ceased to understand the meaning of such messages.

"You can take a comedian out of a circus, but a circus out of a comedian is not. People live in a parallel reality — they make up some menacing lists, declare that they will soon be drinking coffee on the Yalta embankment... It's difficult to comment on where diagnoses need to be made," Pavlenko said in her Telegram channel.

The mayor pointed out that residents of Crimea live in a different reality than representatives of the Kiev authorities. The region is experiencing a real renaissance, the population is working for the benefit of the beloved peninsula and the great country, Pavlenko emphasized.

Albert Kurshutov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea, said on the same day that he considered it an honor and pride to be on Ukraine's sanctions list. He noted that this list includes real patriots of Russia who are following the right path and working for the benefit of the Russian Crimea. According to him, in practice, inclusion in the sanctions lists has no consequences.

On September 20, a decree on the imposition of sanctions against 96 people was published on the official website of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. The sanctions involve the blocking of assets and the deprivation of state awards.
