The tragedy occurred on September 20 at the airfield where the training sessions were held. According to Izvestia's source, 58-year-old Pavel Alekseev has been parachuting for about four years and has made about 40 jumps. Before the launch, he underwent a medical check-up and briefing, stowed the parachute on his own, which was checked by the instructor. The jumps were performed from An An-2 aircraft from a height of 1100 m.
During the jump, the athlete did not open either the main or the reserve parachute. The man fell to the ground on the territory of the airfield and died. An investigation is underway into the incident.
On June 22, the Krasnoyarsk Territory Rescue Service reported the death of a man after falling from a paraglider. Rescuers from the Krasnoyarsk Search and Rescue squad went to the scene. The body of a 39-year-old man was recovered after carrying out high-altitude work.
