According to the survey, almost nine out of 10 Britons do not support British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's decision to recognize a Palestinian state. This was reported on September 19 by The Telegraph newspaper.

"A survey conducted by JL Partners shows that almost 90% of the population do not support the Prime Minister's decision <...> Only 13% of Britons support the recognition of Palestine as a state," the publication says.

According to the survey, the majority of British citizens believe that recognition of Palestine as a state is impossible until the radical Palestinian movement Hamas stops firing and releases the hostages.

Earlier, on September 20, it was reported that Starmer intends to announce the recognition of Palestine as a state. Earlier, he stated that London would take this step if Israel did not fulfill the conditions for a cease-fire, as well as renouncing the annexation of the West Bank, ensuring humanitarian supplies and agreeing to a long-term peace process.
