Guard Soldier Andrei Yankovich, as part of a mortar crew, suppressed the firing points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) when his position was attacked by enemy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the area of the special military operation on Sunday, September 21.

In these circumstances, Yankovich managed to keep his cool and continued to lead the calculation, providing fire support for the Russian artillery. The enemy tried to damage the crew by dropping ammunition from drones. However, Yankovic reacted to the attacks in a timely manner, managing to give the calculation the command to evade. As a result, the combat mission was completed and all AFU firing points were suppressed.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the courage and determination of the guard of Junior Sergeant Alexander Zildeev, who was at the electronic warfare (EW) air surveillance post and received information via radio about artillery shelling on the territory where the neighboring unit was located.

Villains immediately gathered a small group of comrades and moved to help the neighboring unit. On the spot, he found several wounded Russian servicemen, who received first aid and organized their evacuation to a safe place.

Unmanned platforms with electronic warfare systems are on duty in firing positions, suppressing enemy UAVs and saving the lives of gun crews.

Earlier, on September 20, the Russian Defense Ministry told how Corporal Gennady Kuchinsky, acting as part of a motorized rifle unit, discovered and repelled an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a stronghold that had previously been taken by Russian fighters.

Prior to that, on September 17, the Ministry of Defense said that Corporal Eduard Zakirzyanov discovered an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) during the protection of positions on one of the sections of the line of contact. The soldier immediately reported on the opponents moving through the forest belt by radio, after which he joined the battle.
