Ukrainian figure skater Kirill Marsak complained that during his participation in the Beijing qualification for the 2026 Winter Olympics, toys were stolen from him, which fans threw at him on the ice after his rental.

"Today, someone tore up my bag and stole the toys that were thrown on the ice for me. They were lying in the locker room, which only athletes have access to," Marsak said on September 20 on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

Marsak, after presenting the short program, takes the sixth place (72.33 points). The leader was Russian Peter Gumennik (93.80 points).

On the same day, it became known about the victory of Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan during the qualifying tournament in Beijing for the 2026 Olympics. Honored Coach of the USSR Tatiana Tarasova said that this is a great event for figure skating. The two-time champion of the Russian Federation scored 209.63 points in the sum of two programs (the short program on September 19 brought her 68.72 points).

On August 20, the ISU published on its official website the list of participants in the qualifying tournament for figure skaters for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Among the Russian figure skaters, Adelia Petrosyan and Peter Gumennik were admitted to the qualifying tournament. Alina Gorbacheva and Vladislav Dikidzhi are going to the selection as substitutes. Sports and dance couples were not allowed to participate in the competition. The skaters will compete in a neutral status.
