Mixed martial arts fighter Jeff Monson will open a free sports school in South Ossetia. In an interview with Izvestia on September 20, he shared that it was his dream.
"It's my dream to open a free sports school myself. This is my first international sports school in South Ossetia. I will be opening this school next month," he said.
On Saturday, September 20, the fighter held his first master class, as well as a meeting with his students. The Committee on Youth Policy and Sports of South Ossetia signed an agreement with Monson on cooperation and cooperation in the field of martial arts and the creation of a sports section for grappling and jiu-jitsu. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the first International Economic Forum "South Ossetia. Investment Horizons" in Tskhinvali.

In 2018, Monson received a Russian passport, and on May 23, 2023, he renounced his American citizenship. In an interview with Izvestia, he explained that he had decided to renounce US citizenship because Washington was helping Kiev to attack Russia. The fighter also added that three of his friends had already died in Donbass.
Monson is 54 years old, during his career he has fought many fights in mixed martial arts: he won 61 victories, suffered 26 defeats, two fights ended in a draw. His last fight in MMA was on March 25, 2017, against Nikolai Savilov, when a draw was recorded.
