- The Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation has excluded the use of electronic textbooks in schools
There are no plans to use electronic textbooks in Russian schools. This was announced on September 20 by the first Deputy Minister of Education, Alexander Bugaev.
"We will not use an electronic textbook in schools. Because a paper textbook forms a worldview, it shapes the development of a child, including the brain. Of course, our textbooks will remain paper," he said at the meeting of the World Youth Festival in Nizhny Novgorod.
Bugaev also noted that electronic information systems are currently being used in Russian schools, including the state information system "My School", electronic diaries and other tools that accompany and assist the educational process. At the same time, he stressed that direct communication between a student and a teacher will never be replaced.
"It's not just communication, it's also the transfer of experience and knowledge from person to person," Bugaev added.
Earlier, on September 13, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin expressed the opinion that Russian schoolchildren face excessive workload. According to him, because of this, they do not have time for additional classes and visits to sections. Volodin stressed that modern schoolchildren spend about 12 hours a day studying.
