A house with 17 slaves was found in the Rostov region
In the Rostov region, investigators have launched an investigation into the use of slave labor in the Pustoshkin farm. This was reported on September 20 in the information center of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.
"Several men, including those of non—Slavic appearance, arranged for 17 people to live in the household, including the elderly and people leading an antisocial lifestyle," the department's Telegram channel reported.
It is noted that later the defendants began to force the prisoners to perform agricultural and other work, and physical force was used for violation of discipline, failure to follow instructions and attempts to escape.
The escaped man said that people were not paid for their work. He also stated that the owners of the houses have patrons who, in his opinion, allow them to act without fear, complements "Газета.Ru ".
"A procedural check has been launched in the SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Rostov region on this fact," the Investigative Committee said.
The head of the department instructed the head of the local department of the Investigative Committee to provide a report on the results of the audit.
On April 11, it became known about the detention of three Novokuznetsk residents for the illegal detention and use of slave labor of nine people. It was clarified that the victims were held in the basement of one of the houses on Sosnovskaya Street from 2012 to April 2025.
On the same day, the Novokuznetsk court refused to arrest the persons named by the investigation and chose a preventive measure for them in the form of a ban on certain actions. However, the investigating authorities re-filed a petition to the Central District Court for the arrest of the men involved after new episodes of crimes were revealed. Depending on the role of each of them, the men are charged with crimes under paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 117 of the Criminal Code ("Torture") and three episodes under paragraphs "a", "c", "g", "g", "z" of part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code ("Kidnapping of a man").
