In the United States, more than 1.8 thousand flights were canceled at Dallas airports due to a telecommunications equipment failure. This was reported on September 20 by The Economic Times (ET) newspaper with reference to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

"More than 1,8 thousand flights were delayed and hundreds canceled at Dallas airports due to a telecommunications outage, which led to aircraft landing at the request of the Federal Aviation Administration," the publication says.

It is noted that the failure affected the airports of Dallas – Fort Worth, as well as Dallas –Love Field. Because of this, air carriers were forced to cancel about 20% of flights to the city.

The cause of the problem has not been determined at this time.

"American Airlines canceled more than 200 flights and delayed more than 500, almost all of which were related to telecommunications outages at Dallas Airport, affecting a quarter of the schedule," the newspaper reported.

On March 21, The Sun newspaper announced the closure of Heathrow Airport until the end of the day due to an explosion at an electrical substation nearby. On the same day, The Telegraph learned that a unit specializing in anti-terrorist activities had been assigned to investigate the incident.
