In Transbaikalia, the driver of an all-terrain vehicle was taken into custody after the deaths of five people

In the Kalarsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory, a 28-year-old driver of an all-terrain vehicle in which five people drowned was taken into custody. This was announced on September 20 by the Regional Prosecutor's Office.

"The driver of a multi-purpose light armored tractor (MT-LB) with six employees of a commercial organization and two employees of a security company in the cabin allowed the vehicle to enter a reservoir while driving off-road, as a result of which five people who were in the cabin. They died on the spot as a result of drowning," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that the detainee was charged under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products, performance of works or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence").

On September 16, in the Kalarsky district of the Trans-Baikal Territory, an all-terrain vehicle with failed brakes flew into Lake Amudisa and drowned. It was clarified that there were nine geologists in the cabin. Four of them were able to get out on their own. On September 17, divers found an all-terrain vehicle at the bottom of the lake and retrieved the bodies of three victims.

Later, on September 18, two more bodies of the dead were recovered by divers.

On September 19, it was reported that the perpetrator had been detained.
