The United States has suspended the sale of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) to European countries, as they themselves are faced with a shortage of weapons. This was reported on September 19 by The Atlantic magazine, citing sources.

It is noted that prior to this, the United States and Denmark had discussed a billion-dollar deal to sell the systems. However, at some point, the Pentagon "lost interest" in the agreement. Also in early September, the head of the political department of the US Department of Defense, Elbridge Colby, said that he did not see the value in some arms supplies to other countries.

"He added that he did not like the idea of selling Patriot missile interception systems to Denmark, as there were not enough of them and they should be reserved for use by the United States as needed," the publication says.
