The calculation of TOS-1A "Solntsepek" destroyed the fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Red Army direction

The calculation of the upgraded heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A "Solntsepek" of the Center group of forces struck a fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area. This was announced on September 20 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

After receiving coordinates from the operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the crew quickly took up a firing position and fired an accurate salvo of thermobaric ammunition. As a result, the system of field fortifications was destroyed and the enemy's manpower was hit, which created conditions for the advance of assault units.

"Our group is working on enemy fortified points located in closed structures, as well as in forest plantations. We mainly strike at populated areas where there is a large concentration of enemy equipment and infantry," said Ilya Kilevoy, commander of the heavy flamethrower group.

The specificity of ammunition lies in thermobaric charges, which form a cloud of a combustible mixture that penetrates into shelters. The subsequent volumetric explosion effectively destroys the enemy even in protected dugouts.

Earlier, on September 18, it was reported that the Russian Armed Forces (AF) had attacked Ukrainian energy facilities. According to the Ministry of Defense, these were storage facilities and workshops for the production of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as a temporary deployment point for Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 142 districts.
