Heavy rains in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk flooded streets and paralyzed traffic

Heavy rains in Dagestan led to flooding of streets in Makhachkala, Kaspiysk and Izberbash, significantly impeding the movement of vehicles. Heavy rainfall creates problems on roads where storm drainage systems cannot cope with the flow of water. This was reported on September 19 in the main directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Dagestan.

"The main problems arise on highways, where deep puddles form. The movement of cars is difficult, and they often get stuck, unable to get out on their own," the department noted.
