- The IOC redistributed medals after the disqualification of biathlete Ustyugov at the Olympics
The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved the redistribution of medals at the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver and 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi in biathlon. This was announced on September 19 on the official website of the IOC.
"The official results were changed by the responsible international federation, the International Biathlon Union (IBU), following the disqualification of Evgeny Ustyugov (Russia) due to an anti-doping rule violation," the publication said.
So, in 2010, Frenchman Martin Fourcade won the 15 km mass start race, and in the 4-7.5 km relay, the Swedish team took third place instead of Russia. At the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia also loses the gold medal in the 4-7.5 km relay. The new winners are the German national team.
