Ukraine has spent millions to intercept Russian drones
Russian Geran-2 drones have become a serious economic problem for Ukraine. Cheap kamikaze drones cost from $20 to $80 thousand, while Ukraine is forced to shoot them down with high-tech missiles worth up to a million dollars each. This was reported on September 19 by The Economic Times newspaper.
It is specified that the latest versions of the Geran-2 can carry warheads up to 90 kg, operate at a distance of up to 1.8 thousand km and are equipped with anti-interference navigation systems.
According to media reports, expensive missiles are quickly consumed, and their replenishment is extremely expensive, which exacerbates the imbalance between cheap drones and expensive air defense systems.
