Interior designer Maria Borovskaya told on Friday, September 19, how to warm the apartment until the heating is turned on.
According to the expert, first of all, the floor and walls keep the apartment warm.
"Of course, underfloor heating eats a lot of electricity. But, for example, we used to turn on the gas stove for heat, but this is very dangerous — an outdated option. Wool carpets were also hung on the walls for extra warmth. Now we can put heaters on," she said in an interview with Radio 1.
Borovskaya warned that when choosing underfloor heating, you need to be careful, because in residential apartments it is strictly forbidden to make them watery by law. Although it is very economical, it is prohibited and unsafe.
The designer noted that it is necessary to pay attention to the floor material so that it is powerful and thick, because then it will be warmer.
"And another important point is that under no circumstances should a warm floor be used for natural wood, because it can crack and deteriorate," she concluded.
