The state traffic Inspectorate will conduct continuous checks of drivers
On Friday and next weekend, September 20-21, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct massive and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to identifying motorists driving while intoxicated. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the department.
Traffic police will carry out preventive measures on roads in the Ulyanovsk, Penza, Kurgan, Tver, Kirov, Murmansk regions and other regions of the country.
On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate reminds of the inadmissibility of driving under the influence of alcohol. Mass checks on the roads to identify drivers who have got behind the wheel in a state of intoxication are carried out by traffic police on an ongoing basis.
"We kindly ask citizens who have witnessed a driver getting behind the wheel in an inadequate condition, who by his actions threatens the safety of other road users, to report this to the police. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate will definitely take all necessary measures to respond to such reports," Police Colonel Sergei Hrantskevich, head of the Department for road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.
The State Traffic Inspectorate recalled that driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as refusing a medical examination, entail the deprivation of a driver's license for a period of one and a half to two years and a heavy fine. In addition, in some cases, the driver faces criminal liability for these acts, the department emphasizes.
Earlier, on September 17, it was reported that the number of road accidents in Moscow in the first eight months of 2025 decreased by 8% compared to the same period last year. The number of deaths in accidents decreased by 29%.
