An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 was recorded in Kamchatka. This was announced on September 19 by the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences (USGS RAS).

It is specified that the depth of the seismic event was 18.7 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded 192 km south-east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

According to published data from the Kamchatka branch of the USGS RAS, tremors of up to 4.3–4.8 points were felt in some areas of the regional center.
