- The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the resumption of flights between Russia and the Philippines
Direct flights between Russia and the Philippines are scheduled to resume in October 2025, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexei Gruzdev said on September 19 at a plenary session of the Russian-Philippine Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Gruzdev noted that the resumption of direct flights between the two countries would be an important step for the development of tourism and increasing the mutual flow of tourists.
"I would like to welcome the resumption of direct flights between our countries. We talked about the fact that in the near future, in October 2025, the first flights from two Russian cities to the Philippines are planned," TASS quoted him as saying.
The Deputy minister added that in 2024, more than 27 thousand Russian tourists visited the archipelago, which is 19% more than in 2023, and expressed confidence in the greater potential for the growth of these indicators.
Earlier, on September 4, it was reported that Aeroflot would launch regular flights to the Seychelles and Sri Lanka. It was specified that flights to the Seychelles (Mahe) will begin on September 27 with a frequency of twice a week — on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Flights to Colombo (Sri Lanka) will be operated from October 4 three times a week: on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
