In the Trans-Baikal Territory, the banks of the Ilya and Duldurga rivers were cleared of debris. The cleaning took place as part of the "Water of Russia" campaign, the press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reported on Friday, September 19.

Employees of district and rural institutions of the Duldurginsky district attended the clean-up, writes ChitaMedia news agency.

As explained in the department, the cleaning of rivers from garbage is of great importance for preserving the ecological balance and maintaining the uniqueness of natural landscapes.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russia plans to double fines for polluting reservoirs. Currently, the maximum penalty is up to 2 thousand rubles.
