There have been 319 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.
Over the past day, 319 road accidents were recorded on Russian roads, in which 42 people were killed and 358 injured. 37 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on September 19 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
21 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which two people were killed, and 26 more road users, including one child, needed medical attention. Nine bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.
So, in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, at night on 496 km of the federal highway R-217 Kavkaz, a 32-year-old driver of a passenger car without a driver's license drove into the oncoming lane in a prohibited place, where he collided with an intercity bus en route Nazran — Stavropol with 10 passengers in the cabin. The culprit of the collision and his passenger were killed in the accident. The driver and four passengers of the bus were hospitalized with injuries.
As a result of 70 accidents, 27 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 43 outside their area of operation, five pedestrians were killed, and 66 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 16 child pedestrians, 11 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.
There were also 48 accidents involving minors, in which 51 young road users were injured, including 17 passengers, five cyclists and nine motor transport drivers. There are no dead children.
In Yekaterinburg, a 42-year-old passenger car driver in the early morning, while passing a regulated pedestrian crossing at a traffic light, collided with an electric scooter driven by a 20-year-old girl, who, without dismounting, crossed the roadway at a traffic light crossing. As a result of the accident, the girl received minor injuries and, after receiving medical care, was sent for outpatient treatment.
On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate drew the attention of cyclists and drivers of personal mobility aids to the need to dismount when crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing. Lack of self-control and driving discipline often lead to injury or death of road users in these categories.
Parents were advised to have an explanatory conversation with their minor children about the rules of safe cycling or SIM, paying special attention to the danger of entering the roadway, as well as compliance with other rules of safe behavior. Children's attention should be focused on the fact that access to public roads for cyclists and SIM users is allowed only when they reach the age of 14.
"We urge motorists, in the conditions of the beginning of the change of seasons, frequent rains and fogs, not to violate the permitted speed limit, increase the distance to the vehicles in front in advance, and also refrain from frequent alterations, avoiding sudden maneuvers and overtaking, especially in the evening and at night," said the head of the Department for road safety promotion and prevention of children's road accidents.- Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich caused traffic injuries to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
Earlier, on September 17, it was reported that the number of road accidents in Moscow in the first eight months of 2025 decreased by 8% compared to the same period last year. The number of deaths in accidents decreased by 29%.
