Gili-Motor Company is recalling in Russia more than 17.7 thousand Geely Emgrand vehicles sold from November 1, 2023 to the present. This was announced on September 19 by the press service of Rosstandart.

The reason for the Geely Emgrand recall was a problem with the fuel filler cap. Under certain conditions, the ventilation valve located in the filler cap may not work correctly, resulting in negative pressure (vacuum). in the system.

For this reason, due to the long-term operation of the engine, the fuel tank may deform, the components of the fuel pump may touch the inner surface of the tank and, as a result, deform or damage it. However, as stated in the message from Rosstandart, the risk of tank deformation can occur "in extremely rare cases."

On all recalled Emgrands, dealer specialists will check and replace the fuel filler cap, as well as check the ventilation system and the condition of the fuel tank (if damage is detected, the fuel tank and its components will be replaced). All works will be free for the owners.
