In the third quarter of this year, the median discount that authorized dealers are willing to provide to the buyer of a new car, including bonuses for loan processing, insurance and trade-in, decreased to 21%. This indicator has been declining for the third month in a row. <url> Assessment experts told Izvestia about this on September 19.

The number of discount offers is also decreasing — if in the spring their number exceeded 91%, then by mid-September more than 13% of dealer ads had already been placed without a discount. The maximum discount in the second quarter was 62%, but by mid-September it had dropped to 58%, but it was still higher than in the first quarter. The median discount for a loan was 11%, for a trade-in — 7%, and for a hard hat policy — 2%.

The tendency to reduce both the size and number of discounts from authorized dealers is explained by a decrease in vehicles from previous years in warehouses, as well as a revision of the key refinancing rate, which is expected to stimulate consumer demand. This trend will continue until the end of the year, and the next two months may be the most profitable time to purchase a new car, according to Sergey Ignatov, head of the Department for Key Customer Relations at <url>.

Among the regions of the Russian Federation with the largest sales of new cars in the third quarter of 2025, the highest median discount was recorded in the Novosibirsk and Voronezh regions — 27% and 25%, respectively. At the same time, the lowest median discount was again recorded in the Republic of Bashkortostan (10%; in the first quarter it exceeded 15%). The main trend in the regions is an increase in the number of ads without a discount. In the Rostov region, a third of new cars are already offered without discounts, while in the Samara region their share has reached a quarter. At the same time, in St. Petersburg and the Chelyabinsk region, only 4% and 8% of ads are without discounts, respectively.

Jetour and Omoda brands had the highest median discount in the third quarter, at 28%. Geely and Belgee offer the most discounts — more than 96% of discounted offers, while Haval dealers offer the least discounts — only 82% of ads.

The day before, it was reported that by the end of August, the Russian car market, having shown the maximum result in 2025, rose to second place in the European championship, second only to Germany.

Also on September 18, car dealers said that if a resolution is passed to review the mechanism for calculating scrap collection, the increase in car prices will affect the vast majority of brands, since cars with engines of less than 160 hp are an insignificant share in alternative imports.
