- Rostec has supplied troops with a batch of the latest Pantsir-SMD anti-aircraft systems
The Rostec State Corporation's High-Precision Complexes holding has supplied the Russian Ministry of Defense with a batch of Pantsir-SMD anti-aircraft missile systems. The corresponding statement was published on Rostec's website on September 19.
"Pantsir family complexes show high efficiency, protecting the Russian sky. Their calculations repeatedly detected and destroyed complex aerial targets during combat duty," said Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of the Rostec arms cluster.
The corporation clarified that the missile systems are equipped with a fire control system, which includes multifunctional radar and electron-optical systems. In addition, Pantsir-SMD is able to automatically evaluate the effectiveness of firing.
Earlier, on August 22, the head of Rostec State Corporation, Sergey Chemezov, announced that the company had supplied the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with 65% of the annual weapons plan and surprised Western countries. According to him, the West is shocked by such a pace. In particular, Chemezov stressed that as many weapons as needed will be produced. He recalled that since the beginning of the special military operation, the production of certain types of weapons has increased tenfold and continues to increase annually.
