In Poland, law enforcement officers uncovered a criminal scheme in which Ukrainian citizens hiding from forced mobilization illegally crossed the state border through the Medyka checkpoint. This was reported on September 18 on the website of the Bieszczady branch of the border guard.

"The organizers of the illegal scheme, Ukrainian railway drivers— hid young people in the locomotives of international trains traveling from Ukraine to Przemysl. Two drivers were arrested and charged with participating in an organized criminal group and organizing illegal border crossing of the Republic of Poland," the department said.

It is specified that the detainees did not admit their guilt. For each Ukrainian sent across the border, they received $10,000 (more than 832,000 rubles).

Two border violators were also detained. They explained to the law enforcement officers that their motivation for entering Poland was their unwillingness to join the Ukrainian army.

"The case is developing, and further arrests cannot be ruled out," the border guards said.

On August 27, the Mysl Polska newspaper reported that since 2022, Ukrainian refugees have been illegally receiving social benefits in Poland. It was clarified that organized groups of Ukrainians come to the country to receive benefits through ATMs in Przemysl. As a result of illegal activities on the part of Ukrainian refugees, the Polish budget has lost at least 30 million zlotys. Only 10% of Ukrainians returned the money.
