Sedentary work affects the state of the body. Even if a person exercises regularly, there is a high probability that his metabolism will be slow. About this on September 19, "Gazeta.Ru" was told by nutritionist "SM-Clinic" Daria Khaikina.

"When a person sits for a long time, his muscles hardly work. As a result, the total calorie consumption decreases, insulin sensitivity decreases, and the body begins to save excess "for later," the publication says.

The nutritionist also stressed that in a sitting position, blood circulation slows down, the process of oxygen delivery to tissues worsens, and the activity of enzymes responsible for fat breakdown decreases.

To improve her health, the expert advised performing certain rituals daily. In particular, do a little warm-up every 30-40 minutes.

"Several bends, shoulder or foot rotations accelerate blood flow and help muscles spend up to 20% more energy than in static. This will improve blood circulation, which means that the brain will receive more oxygen and start working faster," Khaikina said.

Evening classes in the gym will not be able to compensate for eight hours of sitting in a chair. The metabolism will be kept in good shape if movement is integrated into every hour, she concluded.

Earlier in the day, Jennifer Martin, a physician and representative of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), spoke about the health effects of sleeping outdoors. She said that being outdoors brings many health benefits, and spending the night under the stars is no exception. Unlike the usual urban environment, where we are surrounded by devices with bright lights, noise and other distractions, spending the night in nature can help improve sleep and restore the body.
