Leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un led the tests of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) developed in the country's institutes. This was reported on September 19 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
It is noted that he got acquainted with the work of various unmanned weapons, including strategic and tactical reconnaissance UAVs and multipurpose drones.
"This day's test clearly demonstrated the military-strategic value and innovative characteristics of the strategic reconnaissance UAV, as well as the excellent combat effectiveness of the Kumson tactical attack drones," the agency stressed.
According to the agency, Kim Jong-un expressed great satisfaction with the test result.
Earlier, on May 9, it was reported that exercises were held in the DPRK to work out the urgent transition of all units to readiness for a nuclear counterattack. It is specified that the purpose of such exercises was to familiarize the relevant units with the procedure for the use of gun and missile systems within the framework of the state system of integrated control over nuclear weapons.
