Residents of Kamchatka told Izvestia on September 18 that it is extremely difficult to get used to the constant tremors during an earthquake.

"To be honest, it's very difficult to get used to it. I was born here, lived for 66 years, and I know Kamchatka well. It's a pity that the grandchildren have become afraid of all these earthquakes," said one of the locals.

Another eyewitness shared his feelings about the child during the aftershocks.

"Before the earthquake, the cat seemed to give a sign that it was time to get up. Then the rocking started getting stronger and stronger, and all the spray cans and creams fell off my dressing table. It was necessary to pick up the child, open the door and calmly go outside," the woman said.

Residents noted the importance of calm and order during the tremors, despite the fear and destruction they cause.

Earlier, on September 18, four aftershocks were recorded off the coast of Kamchatka. As noted in the geological survey, the first aftershock of magnitude 5.8 was recorded 157 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky at a depth of 10 km, the next — 146 km from the same city and with a magnitude of 5.4.
