For the sixth time in the last two years, the United States has blocked a resolution in the UN Security Council on the situation in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on September 18.

According to TASS, since the 10,000th meeting of the body, Washington has again been the only member of the Security Council to vote against the document.

"The resolution demanded the immediate release of all hostages and the lifting of restrictions on the import of humanitarian aid into Gaza," the text of the draft, prepared by 10 non—permanent members of the Security Council, says.

All other states supported the document, including the permanent members — Russia, China, Great Britain and France.
