Deputy Aksakov shared his first experience of using the digital ruble
Anatoly Aksakov, the head of the State Duma's financial Market committee, who became the first Russian to receive a salary in digital rubles, told Izvestia on September 18 that his first experience using the new currency in everyday life turned out to be successful. He noted that he actively participated in the implementation of the relevant law, also becoming the first participant in the experiment.
"I received a salary in digital rubles. The bank and the accounting department of the State Duma agreed, and it turned out to be very simple. In fact, there is no bureaucracy. The money arrived at the right time, when our salaries are being paid," Aksakov said on the sidelines of the Moscow Financial Forum.
The MP added that he decided to try out how digital financial instruments work in practice on the same day. First, he made two charitable contributions to children's funds, and then he paid for lunch at a children's cafe.
"Everything went quickly and efficiently, just like when paying with a card. I didn't feel the difference. Nothing will change for ordinary people, the main thing is that they have the desire to take advantage of this opportunity. The main thing is that this is a voluntary desire, not an obligation," Aksakov said.
Due to the convenience of the new form of payments, as the market develops, interest in it will only increase, the parliamentarian believes.
Aksakov announced on September 17 that he became the first person in Russia to receive a salary in digital rubles to his digital wallet on the Bank of Russia platform. Aksakov expressed the opinion that the digital ruble will be widely used in Russia, "since its use will be free for people, and for retail chains, commissions on such payments will be minimal." According to him, the digital ruble is relevant in the budget process, in which reliability, speed and transparency of operations are important.
