A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a light pole in the Irkutsk region.

A 21-year-old motorcycle driver was killed in an accident in the Shelekhovsky district of the Irkutsk region. This is reported by the regional State Traffic Inspectorate.

The accident occurred on Thursday, September 18, on the Shelekhov – Bolshoy Luga highway in the village of Olkha. It was previously established that the 21-year-old Racer motorcycle driver chose the wrong speed and lost control.

The motorcycle crashed into a concrete light pole and tipped over. The driver died at the scene of the accident, his 34-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries, IrkutskMedia news agency writes.

It is noted that the motorcyclist and his passenger did not use motorcycle helmets. The circumstances of the accident are being established.

On September 12, it was reported that a motorist was detained in the Angara region, who killed a motorcyclist in the Kuytunsky district and fled the scene. The driver of the VAZ-2107 faces up to 12 years in prison.
