The event will occur just before the autumnal equinox, when the length of day and night are almost equal. Because of this, the phenomenon was called the "Equinox Eclipse."

The maximum phase of the eclipse will occur around 22:41 Moscow time. The total duration will be more than four hours — from 20:29 to 00:53 Moscow time. During this period, the Sun will look like a thin crescent in the sky. The eclipse itself will be the deepest in the last few years.

The event cannot be observed everywhere, but only on that part of the Earth on which the Moon's shadow falls. In September 2025, only residents of the Southern Hemisphere will see the solar eclipse. To observe the solar eclipse, it is important to choose a site with an open horizon, away from the glare of the city. You must first find out the weather forecast, as clouds and rain may interfere with the observation.

When observing the sun, even during an eclipse, you need to use special glasses or solar filters that are mounted on a telescope lens or binoculars. They must be certified and comply with the international safety standard.

Ordinary sunglasses and homemade devices will not work, because they are not able to protect against dangerous solar radiation, which can damage the retina of the eyes. For the same reason, it is not recommended to look at the sun through the screen of a camera or mobile phone.
