Pensioners from 20 regions are starting to study the basics of entrepreneurship
Starting from October 8, 2025, the Silver Start program begins in Russia — pensioners from 20 regions will have the opportunity to master the basics of entrepreneurship and start their own business, the press service of the Leningrad Entrepreneurship Support Fund reported.
"Entrepreneurship training for businessmen over the age of 60 will be held in the Leningrad Region for the first time. We are consciously moving away from the outdated model, where people at this age simply "lived out", to a fundamentally new paradigm — a model of active longevity, including social, cultural and, most importantly, economic activities," the press service noted.
In addition to residents of the Leningrad Region, pensioners from 20 regions of Russia, in particular, from Arkhangelsk, Vladimir, Kursk, Saratov regions and Chuvashia, will be able to participate in the Silver Start project. The program is aimed at applying the skills and experience of older people in areas where their knowledge is particularly in demand. Among the popular areas for starting a business are grocery delivery, repair of machinery, tailoring, growing seedlings and making handmade products.
