The best-selling used cars in Russia are named

The Lada 2107 sedan once again became the most popular model among used passenger cars in Russia at the end of summer. In August, residents of the Russian Federation purchased 13.5 thousand. "sevens." This is stated in the message of the analytical agency Autostat, which was received by Izvestia on September 19.

The top three also included Kia Rio (11.1 thousand units) and Hyundai Solaris (10.8 thousand units). The Ford Focus rose to the fourth place in the rating (9.9 thousand units), the fifth place went to the Lada 2114 Samara-2 hatchback (9.8 thousand units). Toyota Corolla, Lada 4x4 (Niva), Lada 2170 (Priora), Toyota Camry and Lada 2190 (Granta) rounded out the top ten.

Compared to July, the Lada 4x4 SUV shows the best positive dynamics (+3.2%), while the Toyota Corolla has the strongest decline (-4.3%). Compared to August 2024, the "fourteenth" model sank worse than the others (-8.4%), and the "seven" added the best (+5.3%).

Lada also retains leadership in the brand structure of the secondary market — in the last month of summer, 137.5 thousand such used cars were purchased. The second place belongs to Toyota (57 thousand units). This is followed by Kia and Hyundai (33.3 thousand and 31.7 thousand units, respectively), Nissan closes the top five (25.1 thousand units). Renault recorded the largest decrease in the top 10 brands compared to a month ago (-5.2%), which became ninth in the ranking, while Honda recorded the strongest growth (+5.8%; seventh place).

In total, in August 2025, Russians bought 565.5 thousand used passenger cars. This is 0.3% less than a month earlier, but 1% higher than the result of August last year. In the first eight months of this year, residents of the Russian Federation became owners of almost 3.87 million used passenger cars, which is 0.3% more than in January – August 2024.

The day before, it was reported that by the end of August, the Russian car market, having shown the maximum result in 2025, rose to second place in the European championship, second only to Germany.

Also on September 18, car dealers said that if a resolution is passed to review the mechanism for calculating scrap collection, the increase in car prices will affect the vast majority of brands, since cars with engines of less than 160 hp are an insignificant share in alternative imports.
