Zakharova pointed to the destruction of the Gaza population due to Israeli strikes

The aim of Israel's massive offensive on Gaza was to establish full control over the city and destroy the remaining units of the Palestinian Hamas movement, but as a result, horrific deaths of civilians are taking place there. This was stated on September 18 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, answering a question from Izvestia.

"Against the background of the massive rocket and bomb attacks on this area that have been going on for a long time, tank units have now been deployed to the combat zone. All this provoked panic among the local population who remained in the city, which is just under one million people," the diplomat said at a briefing.
