Lavrov announced the EU's unwillingness to resolve the conflict in Ukraine
The European Union (EU) does not want a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, wanting to revive the European military machine and maintain the threat to Russia. This was announced on September 18 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the Big Game program on Channel One.
"I have no doubt that they do not want a settlement that will put an end to their long-term attempts to make Ukraine a constant irritant, or even a threat to the Russian Federation. But another consideration may be the desire to revive the European military machine," Lavrov said.
According to the diplomat, the West plans to support the "Nazi entity", which is now headed by President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.
Earlier, on August 24, Lavrov said that in order to reach an agreement on guarantees of Ukraine's security after the end of the conflict, Western countries must take into account Russia's basic interests. According to him, the Russian Federation has launched a special military operation in order to protect Russian-speaking people from the "openly Nazi" regime in Kiev.
