The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, is facing a growing wave of criticism in Brussels due to her position on Russia and Gas and strained relations with colleagues. This was reported on September 18 by the Politico newspaper, citing a source.

"If you can't do your job, someone else will do it," the newspaper quoted an anonymous official as saying.

According to the newspaper, Callas is criticized for being overly tough on Russia and the situation in the Gaza Strip. The article also notes that Callas' work in her current position is generally not satisfied with her colleagues from the European Commission.

On September 16, Politico reported that the European Parliament (EP) will discuss and then vote on two votes of no confidence in the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen at the plenary session from October 6 to October 9. Two political groups, including the far-right Patriots for Europe and Leftists, submitted separate votes of no confidence in von der Leyen on September 10.

Earlier, on September 13, Callas said that Europe is ready to defend its interests "with sticks and carrots." She also stated that Russia, China, North Korea and Belarus allegedly want to return to a model of the world order in which "power and force determine who is in charge."
