So, in the Krasnodar Territory, in the early morning, on 12 km of the federal highway R-217 Kavkaz, a 34-year-old car driver fell asleep at the wheel and drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a cargo Gazelle and two more cars. In the Vladimir region, on 14 km of the Vladimir— Ulybyshevo— Konyaevo highway of regional significance, a passenger car driven by a 46-year-old driver was carried sideways into the oncoming lane due to a speed discrepancy with specific traffic conditions, where it collided with a bus traveling along the Raduzhny— Vladimir suburban route with 15 passengers in the cabin.. As a result of the accident, the driver and passenger of the car were killed, three passengers of the bus ended up in the hospital, the driver and another passenger of the bus were sent for outpatient treatment after medical care.
As a result of 85 accidents involving pedestrians, 11 people were killed, 76 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured are 20 child pedestrians, half of whom were injured when crossing the roadway in unintended places. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 42 occurred at pedestrian crossings and 43 outside their area of operation.
39 accidents involving minors were registered, in which 44 young road users were injured, including 10 passengers, six cyclists and eight motor transport drivers. There are no dead children.
In addition, in the Lipetsk region, in the evening, on 1 km of the Telegino — FAD M-4 Don highway, a 48-year-old tractor driver with a tank trailer carrying 3 tons of liquid ammonia drove under a forbidding traffic light to a railway crossing, where he collided with a Moscow—Krasnodar passenger train. As a result of the accident, the tractor driver was hospitalized with injuries.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded drivers of the importance of following the rules of passage of railway crossings, as this maneuver is considered dangerous and requires concentration and maximum attention.
An analysis of accidents at railway crossings shows that such accidents most often occur at unregulated crossings, where drivers, not convinced of the safety of the maneuver, try to drive in front of a nearby train, the department noted. Trying to gain a few seconds of travel, they often endanger not only their own lives, but also the lives and health of their own passengers, railway staff, passengers on commuter trains and long-distance trains.
In the traffic regulations, there is a direct ban on leaving the railway track outside the crossing. The maneuver is impossible when the barrier is closed or closing, or when the traffic light or crossing attendant is forbidding. A driver moving through such a crossing should be extremely careful at night, as well as in adverse weather conditions and limited visibility.
"Stopping or parking a vehicle at a railway crossing is also strictly prohibited, as it poses a real threat of collision with a train. If this happens in an emergency, for example, when a car breaks down, the driver must immediately disembark people from the vehicle, remove them to a safe distance and take measures to free the crossing — tow or push the car off the rails," said the head of the Department for road Safety Promotion and prevention of child traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich.
Earlier, on September 17, it was reported that the number of road accidents in Moscow in the first eight months of 2025 decreased by 8% compared to the same period last year. The number of deaths in accidents decreased by 29%.
