Dealers warned of rising car prices due to changes in recycling

This forecast was made by Renat Tyukteev, Deputy General Director for New Car Sales at Avilon AG, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on September 18.

Electric cars and hybrids will also significantly rise in price — from 800 thousand rubles and above, depending on the capacity. Imports of cars with a capacity of over 160 hp will be reduced by at least 15%, Tyukteev noted.

Nikolay Ivanov, Director of the New Car Sales Department at Rolf, said that the changes in the recycling system will primarily affect electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles. For example, on the Zeekr 001, the fee rises by about 1.5 million rubles, on the Lixiang model — by 1.2 million rubles. Gasoline-powered cars will also increase in cost, but not so critically. For example, the BMW X5 will rise in price by 250 thousand rubles, and the Toyota Highlander — by 120 thousand rubles, he estimated.

In turn, Evgeny Zhitnukhin, commercial director of the Fresh automotive marketplace, believes that new cars with powerful engines, such as the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz G-Class, may rise in price by several million rubles, and the cost of popular Korean family models Hyundai Palisade and Kia Carnival will rise to 6 million rubles.
