Starting in 2026, uniforms for the military will be sewn in Russia.

Uniforms for the Russian military will be sewn in Russia from 2026, and by 2027 exclusively from Russian—made fabrics. It follows from the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 18.

"The Head of State instructed the government, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to "take additional measures providing for the supply of weapons starting from January 1, 2026...> personal belongings manufactured by Russian organizations whose production facilities are located on the territory of the Russian Federation," RIA Novosti quoted the decree as saying.

It is noted that this measure is necessary for the purchase of clothing from foreign manufacturers.
