The accused of Kirk's murder surrendered to the police for fear of being shot.
Tyler James Robinson, accused of murdering American activist Charlie Kirk, voluntarily surrendered to law enforcement, fearing that he might be shot during his arrest, Washington County Sheriff Nate Brooksby said on September 18.
"Tyler understood that his detention was inevitable, and he was afraid that law enforcement officers would shoot him. One of the conditions for his voluntary surrender was that we show maximum delicacy and accuracy," the sheriff explained at a press conference.
