- In Canada, Ukrainians are required to confirm their refusal to serve in the Armed Forces
In Canada, Ukrainians are required to confirm that they are exempt from military service in the country's Armed Forces (AFU). This was announced on September 17 by the Ukrainian community Ukrainian Canada on Facebook (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
"The letter notes that in Ukraine there is compulsory military service for men starting at the age of 25. Since you lived in your country during your stay at the age of compulsory conscription, you must provide a certified copy of the document on exemption from military service or a certified copy of military documents issued by the relevant Ukrainian authority," the publication says.
It is noted that this certificate must be provided within seven days.
