In Argentina, a mass protest began in the center of Buenos Aires against the veto of Argentine President Javier Miley on bills on additional funding for universities and the country's largest Garrahan children's hospital. This was announced on September 17 by the organization peoplesdispatch.

"On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Miley vetoed university funding, which was supposed to increase funding for public universities in Argentina," the publication says.

This is the second time that the President has vetoed the law on updating budget allocations for universities. The first veto was imposed in October 2024, according to the organization.

Earlier, on August 28, it was reported that police had detained two men who threw stones at the motorcade of Argentine President Javier Miley in Buenos Aires. Police have arrested the president, his sister Karina Miley and candidate Jose Luis Espert for attacking a van.
