Ruslan Gostev, a deputy of the six convocations of the State Duma from the Voronezh Region, died at the age of 81, caused by a long-term illness. This was announced on September 17 by the governor of the region, Alexander Gusev.
"Ruslan Nikolaevich Gostev died at the age of 81 after a long illness. Voronezh residents entrusted him with representing the interests of their region in six convocations of the State Duma," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
The governor called Gostev an active, caring and decent man who throughout his life had never changed his principles, which were based on justice and concern for the welfare of the country. He added that Gostev never made empty promises to Voronezh residents, supported useful initiatives and provided real help to people.
"The Voronezh Region and the whole of Russia have lost an exceptionally worthy citizen. We will keep his memory alive. On my own behalf and on behalf of the regional government, I express my deep condolences to the family and friends of Ruslan Nikolaevich, his friends and associates," the governor said.
