This year, the third Moscow Open Championship in cybathletics received three times as many applications as in the first season. This was told by Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

"324 cybathletes from 46 regions of Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tatarstan, Adygea, Udmurtia, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Novosibirsk Region, as well as from Belarus and Kazakhstan, showed interest in it," Sergunina noted.

The experts selected 130 people, including about 40 participants in a special military operation. The participants tested the work of modern assistive technologies, demonstrating the capabilities of exoskeletons, neural interfaces, electric strollers, functional prosthetics of the shoulder, forearm, hip and lower leg.

In total, the championship was attended by more than 2.5 thousand people. It took place from September 13 to 15 at the Phoenix Assistive Technology Center at VDNH. Three tracks have been set up on the site: "Rough terrain", "Repair" and "Tactile bag". The first involved passing through an area with an uneven surface, the second involved solving everyday tasks such as hammering a nail or screwing in a light bulb, and the third involved determining the shape of objects using a device.

In addition, the championship included discussions on the development of the industry and access to international markets, thematic workshops, presentations of student projects and technology startups, and interactive zones.

"The Showcase of Innovations exhibition became an important part of the event. Domestic manufacturers presented more than 80 modern solutions that can make the lives of people with special needs more comfortable," Sergunina said.

Among the presented projects are a system for restoring hand motor functions after a stroke or injury, a platform for developing social skills in children, a smart mirror with speech therapy games, rehabilitation devices, bionic and cosmetic prostheses, and exoskeletons. The residents of the Phoenix Center also demonstrated their products.
