Six defendants in the case of mass shawarma poisoning were sentenced in Moscow.
A court in Moscow has sentenced six defendants in the case of poisoning 50 people with shawarma at a fast-food outlet on Sofya Kovalevskaya Street in 2023. This was announced on September 17 by the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor's office.
"Taking into account the position of the Prosecutor's Office of the Northern Administrative District, six defendants — an individual entrepreneur, a cook, a meat supplier, as well as the general director of a private manufacturing organization and his deputy, depending on their role and degree of participation, were found guilty under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements the life and health of consumers") and paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration")," the agency said in a message on its Telegram channel.
